Respondents to an Argus-Courier online survey May 23, 2007 are evenly split on the question of whether medical marijuana dispensaries should be banned in Petaluma. Asked if they feel that cannabis clubs attract crime, participants were also closely divided (40 to 39 percent). In response to the question of whether a ban on medical marijuana dispensaries in the city would significantly hamper the ability of local patients to obtain medical mari-juana, 50 percent responded "yes" and 38 percent "no."

The votes were mixed by those who responded to an Argus-Courier online poll May 16, 2007 on whether they thought school officials were correct in not canceling classes following the May 9 shooting threats made to several PHS students through their online MySpace pages.

Seventy-five percent of respondents to an Argus-Courier online survey May 2, 2007 said they would vote for a quarter-cent sales tax to pay for a Sonoma-Marin commuter train.
