By a 3-to-1 margin, people responding to an Argus-Courier online poll Feb. 21, 2007 feel that Petaluma has a serious problem with heavy drinking and alcohol-related nuisance behavior and needs an alcohol business standards law.

If the results of an Argus-Courier online poll Feb. 14, 2007 are any indication, Petalumans would overwhelmingly reject a quarter-cent sales tax for public safety to pay for more police officers and firefighters.

The majority of people who responded to the Argus-Courier's online survey Feb. 7, 2007 were not satisfied with the process and the outcome of the appointment of a new councilmember to fill a vacant seat on the City Council.

Fifty-seven percent of respondents to an Argus-Courier online poll think Petaluma's streets are in better condition than they were five years ago, and 43 percent feel they roadways are worse.
